Mavenir, an end-to-end network software and systems integration provider for 4G and 5G, has launched a MEC (Multi-Access Edge Computing) solution.

MEC enables carriers to securely open their Radio Access Network (RAN) edge to authorised third-parties while providing the flexibility required for application and service innovation.

Verizon and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are launching their mobile edge computing (MEC) platform in Seattle and Denver, bringing the total number of cities deployed to 10.

Juniper Research: Edge investments by MNOs will reach $8.3B by 2025

Juniper Research predicts investments by Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) will exceed $8 billion by 2025.

The analysts expect MNOs on MEC to swell from $2.7 billion in 2020 to around $8.3 billion in 2025.
